This was my first time racing at Pembrey Circuit. The track surface was not the best and the tyres felt it.
DART MRO 600 As my main 600 bike was still in the workshop awaiting parts I was using my wet bike all weekend. The weekend started off with a good qualifying result of P4 on 600. However, at the end of the qualifying session, the bike suffered a water pump issue. Thankfully fellow 600 rider, Dave James kindly lent me his water pump from his wet bike for the weekend. This meant I could carry on with the remainder of the weekend. We managed to get the water pump off of his bike and my bike was put back together in time for the first race of the day. This race started off well, I got a good start but after 4 laps I missed judged the braking zone for turn 1 unfortunately running into the back of another rider. Luckily, we both managed to stay on the bikes but my race was over as the kill switch was smashed in the contact leaving my bike turned off. The rest of the 600 races were relatively straight forward with top 10 finishes in all races.
Thunderbike Ultra - successful qualifying put the bike on pole position for the first race. Everyone stepped up their game for the 4 races to follow which saw a 5-way battle for the podium positions. All 4 races were close finishes and I am thankful to walk away with 4 podium finishes. Overall a successful weekend. Looking forward to Round 3 at Snetterton where I will be racing the Snetterton 300 layout for the first time.
