Round 3 - Snetterton 300

This weekend was a mixed bag in terms of weather. Saturday was very dull and wet and Sunday was warm and dry.

My first race was on the R6 I started 9th on the grid. I made a good start but had trouble throughout the race with my steering damper, this meant that the front end felt rigid and I had no feel on the side of the tyre. I brought it home in 9th position.

The next race was on the GSXR. I started 4th on the grid. Unfortunately, I chose to go out on the inters but this proved to be the wrong choice. The track was too wet meaning I had to ride very cautiously and could not keep up with the front runners. I finished the race in 11th position. 

The third race was again on the R6 I started this race 16th on the grid. I made a good start but the weather conditions were very poor meaning low visibility and hard to make any moves. I finished this race in 6th position.

Due to the poor weather and racing being cut off at 6.30pm my last race (GSXR) of the day was postponed until Sunday morning.  For this race, I started 18th on the grid. Another good start, I chose to go out on inters which today was a good choice as the track still had wet patches. I was able to work my way through the grid making up 13 positions in the first lap. The next 4 laps were full of close battle and I brought it home in 2nd position and with the fastest lap. 

I started 14th on the grid for the next R6 race. I was up in 7th  position by the first corner. I steadily picked the next few off as the race went on to bring it home in 4th position.

Next up was the 3rd GSXR race of the weekend. This time I started on pole position. I didn’t get a great start but was able to hold the lead. Throughout this race, I had issue with the quick shifter. Despite this, I continue to battle all race long for the lead, up until the last corner where I lunged for 1st place. This did not pay off and I finished 4th. 

The final R6 race of the day was pretty uneventful. I started and finished 7th.

The final race of the day was on the GSXR after missing out on the previous race I had something to prove. I started this race 3rd on the grid. By the 1st corner, I was in the lead. There was a constant battle throughout the race between myself and 2nd place. I wasn’t letting go of the win this time and brought it home in first place with the race’s fastest lap.
